I saw this video on youtube today, and I was amazed how people was thinking of the future at that time.
But look at us now, we are having all of this “gadgets” – if we can call it with that name, assuming that they are not so big and not even mobile – in our pockets. Anyone with middle priced cell phone has all of this options in it.
Video conversation, sending MMS or e-mail, voice mail, text messages, spreadsheets, PDF … And as the video is proposing to `90s … we did have all of this in Pentium’s equipped with portable scanned and printer, web cam and dial-up connection.
So when people are saying to me that I’m obsessed with SciFi movies and gadgets and stuff, I can only ignore them or laugh. Because every single invention that they are showing to us could be used tomorrow. So the conclusion is: “Our imagination and desire for technical inventions are pushing us forward, and making our life easier.”
The very very good example of this is good old Star Trek where they have mobile phones, voice commands … even they had “explained” what is Black Hole …
So what is the next step? What are we going to see in market tomorrow? And are we going to use to communicate with our friends and colleges …? Maybe something of this …
So after all this … I`m going to watch Stargate Atlantis now
